Elon Musk’s social network X (previously Twitter) has a new AI chatbot called Grok that has gotten into hot waters for generating controversial images, including ones depicting presidential nominees Kamala Harris and Donald Trump holding guns.
Other violent images include Mickey Mouse and Trump gunning down children, Bill Gates snorting cocaine, and Pikachu holding a machine gun.
These images come from the new AI features on the Grok chatbot, allowing users to create realistic visuals without many restrictions, unlike its competitors ChatGPT and Gemini. Critics worry that these images could inflame tensions and spread misinformation, especially with the upcoming presidential election.
Musk said he wants X to be a place for free speech, but some feel that the lack of controls might go too far.
