Automaker Stellantis plans to invest $13 billion in the US by 2030 to expand Jeep, Dodge, and Ram production—its largest single investment ever.

The Netherlands-based automaker said Tuesday the move will create over 5,000 jobs across plants in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, while suppliers providing auto parts may add another 20,000 positions.

The plan includes launching five new vehicles and a new four-cylinder engine, with more announcements expected for Chrysler and Dodge.

Over $600 million will go toward reopening the Belvidere, Illinois, plant to produce Jeep Cherokee and Compass SUVs, shifting production from Mexico.

The investment comes as Stellantis faces $1.5 billion in annual tariff costs under Trump’s policies.

CEO Antonio Filosa said the goal is to “grow in this market” after Jeep’s sales slump and a leadership shake-up last year. North American shipments rose 35% last quarter, and Stellantis aims to strengthen its US foothold through both gas and hybrid models.
