Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg criticized Delta for its slow recovery and poor customer service

Delta Air Lines is trying to get back on track from a tech outage that disrupted flights worldwide three days ago due to CrowdStrike’s faulty software security update. The carrier canceled at least 900 flights yesterday, even though other airlines’ functions are mostly back to normal.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg singled out Delta and criticized it for its slow recovery and poor customer service, noting many complaints from travelers.

Delta seems to have been the most affected compared to other major carriers like American and United, which have seen fewer cancellations. Its dependence on Windows software has made it harder to bounce back.

The carrier is offering travel waivers, meal vouchers, and hotel stays to help affected passengers, but some fliers remain frustrated.
