Amazon is expanding its grocery offerings with a new affordable private-label brand, Amazon Saver, to challenge Walmart and other value retailers.

The online shopping giant, which owns Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh, is targeting inflation-weary and price-conscious buyers searching for deals and budget-friendly options. Amazon Saver will feature essential grocery items priced under $5, with an extra 10% off for Prime members.

According to the USDA, in 2023, US families spent over 11% of their disposable income on food, with about 5% allocated to groceries.
