Donald Trump doesn’t think crypto is a scam anymore. The former president received $3 million in cryptocurrency fundraising in Q2 of this year out of the $331 million he raised in that quarter.
In May, he became the first candidate to accept donations in cryptocurrency.
The funds came from the currency bigwigs, including the Winklevoss brothers and Jesse Powell (who co-founded crypto exchange Kraken), among others.
Several Silicon Valley donors are also keen on giving Trump money. Venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz have informed their employees that they plan to make significant donations to PACs supporting Trump, according to The Information.
Other major tech executives, including Elon Musk and David Sacks, have donated significant amounts to Trump’s campaign or his PACs.
