Donations to Harvard University dropped nearly 15% over the past year as prominent donors paused their contributions due to concerns over the institution’s response to rising antisemitism and pro-Palestine protests on campus.

Harvard reported receiving $1.17 billion in gifts for the year ending June 30, down from $1.38 billion the previous year.

Donations to its endowment fell 34% to $368.1 million, while spendable gifts rose 8.6% to $527.7 million, the second-highest amount in Harvard’s history.

The university says task forces are addressing harassment and discrimination among Jewish, Muslim and Arab students, aiming to rebuild community acceptance.
