The 2026 Golden Globes kicked off Hollywood’s awards season on Sunday, with dark comedy One Battle After Another and historical drama Hamnet taking the top film honors.

One Battle won four major awards, including the best director and best screenplay awards for Paul Thomas Anderson. It also won best musical or comedy. Teyana Taylor earned best supporting actress.

KPop Demon Hunters claimed best animated feature and best original song for “Golden.”

In the drama category, Hamnet claimed the prize for best motion picture. The film tells a moving, fictionalized story of William Shakespeare’s grief following the death of his son.

Television awards also saw strong competition. Netflix’s limited series Adolescence led the TV categories with four wins. Meanwhile, medical drama The Pitt took home the award for best drama series, and Noah Wyle won best actor in a drama. The Studio won best comedy, and its star, Seth Rogen, best actor in a comedy.

Among individual acting highlights, Timothee Chalamet scored a major win for best male actor for his role as a professional table tennis player in Marty Supreme.

Good Hang with Amy Poehler took home the first-ever award for the podcast category.
