Starting today, McDonald’s will serve its new $5 meal deal to attract budget-conscious customers deterred by rising prices.

The limited-time deal features a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small french fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink, available for about a month.

The initiative aims to reverse declining customer visits and missed sales expectations. The fast-food giant reported a 3.5% decline in customer traffic for the first quarter of 2024.

Price wars
Right after news of a $5 meal deal by McDonald’s was reported by Bloomberg last month, Wendy’s, Burger King and Starbucks jumped in and debuted their own deals.
