The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) sued YouTuber Logan Paul’s Prime energy drink company for trademark infringement in a product featuring Olympic gold medalist and NBA star Kevin Durant.
The lawsuit filed in Colorado claims that Prime Hydration used “Olympic-related terminology and trademarks on product packaging, Internet advertising and in promotions.” The committee noted that it had never signed any agreement with the energy drink company. It further said Prime’s actions were “deliberate” and “in bad faith.”
The drinks were launched in 2022 by Paul and fellow YouTuber KSI, who collectively have over 40 million subscribers online.
It is not the first time Prime has been involved in controversy. Last July, Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate Prime energy drink for its worrisome levels of caffeine.
