McDonald’s, the world’s largest fast-food chain, is hoping to boost sales by tapping into customer nostalgia and reintroducing fan favorites, starting with the Snack Wrap, which returns to US menus today.

Discontinued in 2016, the Snack Wrap is priced at $2.99 and comes in Ranch and Spicy varieties. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of its breakfast menu, McDonald’s also released a limited-edition Spicy Egg McMuffin this week.

The move comes as McDonald’s same-store sales in America dropped 3.6% in the first quarter—its worst quarterly drop since the pandemic.

Foot traffic among low-income customers also dropped nearly 10%, prompting the chain to reintroduce affordable items and offer new deals.

In May, McDonald’s launched McCrispy Strips, its first permanent US menu addition since 2021, leveraging chicken’s popularity and lower cost compared to record-high beef prices.
