The rad PC game franchise of the 90s and early 2000s is back. Backyard Sports, which includes the iconic ‘Pablo Sanchez’ character video game, announced it will return in the coming months.

Playground Productions, the studio behind the game, said it is expanding the nostalgic childhood sports video game into film, television and merchandise.

Multiple characters from the original series are expected to return to the new video games, including the bubble-blowing Stephanie Morgan, redheaded speedster Pete Wheeler, slugger Kiesha Phillips, and, of course, the Backyard Baseball GOAT Pablo Sanchez.

The Backyard Sports PC and console video games began in 1997 and dropped a mobile app version in 2015. The re-release will be the first installment since then.

The 10-year hiatus is long enough to get the nostalgia juices flowing among the millennials. CFO Chris Waters hopes the games will also resonate with today’s kids.

Notable sports celebrities who are fans of the video games include former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and current Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
