One of the most popular online games, Minecraft is set to become a real-life attraction with its $110 million global theme park deal.

Merlin, known for Legoland, Alton Towers, and more, will invest in Minecraft-themed attractions at their US and UK parks between 2026 and 2027. These attractions will include roller coasters, restaurants, retail spaces, and hotel rooms, with plans to expand globally afterward.

The Microsoft-owned game has sold over 300 million copies and has 140 million monthly players worldwide. The amusement park deal capitalizes on Minecraft’s brand popularity, including upcoming projects like a film and Netflix series.

Merlin, which ranks as the second-largest theme park operator after Disney, focuses on using popular intellectual properties to drive growth.
