Hackers leaked over a terabyte of Disney’s internal data earlier this summer, reports the Wall Street Journal.
It includes sensitive information like passport numbers for Disney Cruise Line workers, Disney+ streaming revenue details, and sales data for Genie+ theme park passes.
Financials mentioned show Disney+ reportedly generated $2.4 billion in revenue in the March quarter of 2024, making up 43% of Disney’s direct-to-consumer revenue. The Genie+ theme park pass generated over $724 million pretax revenue between October 2021 and June 2024.
A hacktivist group called Nullbulge, which claims to be Russia-based and advocates for artists’ rights, took credit for the leak. The data contained around 44 million messages from Disney’s Slack communications, 18,800 spreadsheets and 13,000 PDFs.
