FDA approves first menthol vapes

The FDA approved the first menthol-flavored e-cigarette products for adults, acknowledging vapes can help smokers quit tobacco. The move drew criticism from some public health advocates.

Four e-cigarette products from Njoy, owned by Altria which also makes Marlboro and some menthol-flavored cigarettes, have become the first vapes that can be sold legally in the country.

The FDA had previously banned several flavored products over concerns that they pose a particular risk to teens.
