Powerball jackpot reaches $1.7B

The Powerball jackpot climbed to $1.7 billion on Monday after no winner was drawn. This massive grand prize is now scheduled for a historic Christmas Eve drawing.

So far, only once has there been a jackpot win on the holiday, says Powerball. While the top prize remained elusive, nine lucky ticket holders matched all five white balls, each winning $1 million.

Despite the staggering 1 in 292.2 million odds for winning the jackpot, anticipation for a Christmas miracle continues. Powerball draws are every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 P.M. ET.
