The Supreme Court agreed yesterday to review the constitutionality of a Tennessee law that prohibits gender-affirming hormone therapy for minors.

The SCOTUS justices took up an appeal by the Biden administration of a lower court’s ruling upholding a ban.

The case places the justices in the middle of a charged political issue as more than 20 states have passed laws that curb such treatments for people below the age of 18 years, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The high court will not hear the case until next fall, with a decision expected in 2025.
