Art Cashin, UBS’ director of floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and a beloved figure in the financial world, has passed away at 83.

Known as “Wall Street’s Walter Cronkite,” Cashin was a regular on CNBC, providing market insights for more than 25 years. His contributions made him a household name among investors.

Starting his career in 1959, he became a member of the NYSE at just 23 and later joined UBS in 2000.

His daily newsletter, Cashin’s Comments, which combined market analysis with trivia and historical anecdotes, reached over 100,000 readers daily.

Cashin had earned universal respect in the often-divisive world of stock market commentary and was a unifying figure on Wall Street among liberals and conservatives alike.
