Israel’s military intensified its operations on Sunday, launching airstrikes against targets in Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen.

In a significant move, Israeli jets traveled over 1,000 miles to strike power plants and ports in Hodeidah, Yemen, which the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claim was used for transferring weapons from Iran.

In Lebanon, Israeli forces targeted Hezbollah, killing Hassan Nasrallah, the group’s long-time leader, on Friday. Three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were also claimed to be killed in an airstrike in Beirut. If confirmed, it marks the first known Israeli attack in the Lebanese capital since the 2006 war.

The slew of airstrikes comes amid fears of a broader conflict involving Iranian-backed proxies and ongoing hostilities in Gaza, where Israel continues its military operations against Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized his determination to maintain the country’s military superiority in the region, stating that the IDF is committed to operating against all threats.

With more than 100 reported casualties in Lebanon alone, the situation escalates tensions across the Middle East.
