Trump, Netanyahu meet and discuss Middle East peace

President Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House to discuss a possible 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, renewed Israel-Hamas talks, and a broader Middle East reset. 

Iran has signaled its interest in nuclear talks, and US envoy Steve Witkoff heads to Doha to push for a deal.

Trump seeks to normalize Israel-Saudi ties and reduce tensions with Iran, aiming to solidify his “president of peace” image.

However, lasting progress hinges on Israel’s stance on Palestinian statehood, Hamas’s concessions, and Iran’s uranium plans. 

Netanyahu promised to disarm Hamas but also praised Trump’s efforts, even vowing to nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize.
