The conflict in the Middle East intensified this week with the US and Iran exchanging strikes.
The Central Command said it destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles twice in two days. No American casualties were reported.
In retaliation, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired 20 missiles at a US base in Al Azraq, Jordan.
Jordanian forces said they intercepted 18 missiles, while Iran claimed the attack caused damage to US military targets.
IRGC claimed it damaged two US destroyers. The escalation also spread across the region. Iran targeted ships near the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen attacked Saudi Arabia, injuring 73 people and damaging oil facilities.
The fighting has also rattled global energy markets. Brent crude climbed above $100 a barrel on Wednesday.
