Hamas released the remaining 20 Israeli hostages on Monday under a Gaza peace deal brokered by President Donald Trump, who arrived in Tel Aviv to mark the day and celebrate the landmark agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Initially, seven Israelis were released, and then 13 more living hostages were handed to Red Cross officials and transferred to Israeli forces for medical care and family reunions.
Families in Tel Aviv erupted in cheers as news of the releases spread, with Israel sharing the first photos of hostages arriving home.
Israeli officials fear many are in poor health after years in tunnels with little food or treatment. As part of the deal, Hamas will help recover the bodies of 28 deceased hostages.
In exchange, Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life terms and 1,700 detainees from Gaza.
The ceasefire opens the door for humanitarian aid to Gaza, devastated by famine and widespread destruction. President Trump arrived in the region to discuss postwar plans and the fragile peace process.
