Israel, Hezbollah exchange strikes, increasing possibility of wider war

Following the alleged Israeli operation that had several pagers and walkie-talkies explode, killing 37 and wounding thousands of others, Hezbollah vowed retribution and launched attacks on military targets in northern Israel.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, aiming to weaken its capabilities and restore security near the Israel-Lebanon border, where about 60,000 residents remain displaced.

The Israeli Air Force targeted rocket launchers ready for immediate use, striking approximately 100 such sites.

Experts are worried by the exchanges. The Hezbollah leader has accused Israel of declaring war and vows retaliation. He said the group will continue attacking northern Israel until the war in Gaza ends.

Meanwhile, US officials confirmed no American involvement in the attacks but noted prior communication from Israel.
