Julian Assange has left a British prison and is expected to plead guilty to a single charge of illegally obtaining national security material and disclosing the information, resolving a yearslong saga.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed Assange’s departure from the UK.

The 52-year-old WikiLeaks founder published sensitive and classified information in the 2010s.

The agreement, pending court approval, may allow him to avoid additional prison time beyond the 62 months he’s already served in a London prison. His legal ordeal commenced in 2010.
