The legislation now moves to the Senate, where its passage is unclear

All House Democrats, along with 17 Republicans, voted to pass a bill extending Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies for another three years. ACA ended in December.

The legislation now moves to the Senate, where its passage is unclear, as the Senate has blocked previous attempts to extend the Obama-era health care plan.

The ACA enables tax credits for around 22 million Americans. Its enrollees are estimated to pay, on average, double the insurance premiums this year if the funding is not restored.

The bill would cost $80 billion and insure another 4 million people, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
