Inflation is souring our festivities and just like Halloween, Thanksgiving is not immune to it. This year’s traditional Thanksgiving meal will cost $65 for 10 people—20% more expensive than last year.

Who’s to blame?
Inflation is the enemy no. 1, but the fault doesn’t entirely lie there. Bird flu also added to higher costs. But, yes, it is mainly inflation as it’s not just the bird that is expensive. Prices for potatoes, pumpkins—canned or otherwise, pie crust and stuffing mix have all shot up; add supply chain issues to the mix and see the prices soar.

Maybe buy a smaller turkey or invite lesser people; or go Dutch.
