Rapper Drake is facing a federal class-action RICO lawsuit alleging he committed music streaming fraud using the online sweepstakes casino Stake.us.
The suit filed in Virginia also names two others: Twitch streamer Adin Ross and George Nguyen. It alleges that Drake and his associates deployed bot farms to artificially inflate play counts for his music on platforms like Spotify.
The plaintiffs claim the group used Stake’s tipping features as an unregulated money transmitter to fund these operations and distort global music charts.
Drake and Ross are also named in lawsuits in Missouri and New Mexico, where they are accused of promoting illegal online gambling through Stake.us.
These mounting legal challenges arrive just as Drake prepares to release his new album, Iceman. A trial for the Missouri-based gambling case is currently scheduled for March 20.
