Universal, Sony, and Warner have sued Verizon for enabling its internet users and profiting from mass online piracy by allowing them to illegally download content despite receiving hundreds of thousands of infringement notices.
The companies allege that Verizon “ignored Plaintiffs’ notices and buried its head in the sand.”
In 2022, Verizon, AT&T and Comcast settled a trio of lawsuits from Hollywood production companies behind Dallas Buyers Club, I Feel Pretty and Colossal for refusing to expel users who repeatedly pirated movies.
