Spotify’s annual Wrapped list is out, with women dominating eight of the ten most-streamed albums on the platform. Taylor Swift led the way, generating over 26.6 billion streams on the platform this year.

Her album “The Tortured Poets Department” shattered Spotify records, becoming the first album to surpass 300 million streams in a single day and 1 billion in its first week.

The platform celebrated Swift’s milestone with custom features, including sprinkle animations for Swifties.

Other female artists who ruled the global albums chart were Billie Eilish (“Hit Me Hard and Soft” at No. 2), Sabrina Carpenter (“Short n’ Sweet” at No. 3), and Karol G (“Manana Sera Bonito” at No. 4). Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” and “Lover” also made the list.

On the songs chart, Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso topped with 1.6 billion streams globally.

In podcasts, The Joe Rogan Experience and Call Her Daddy took the top spots. Author Sarah J. Maas led the debut of Spotify’s audiobook rankings with her A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Spotify also added a new twist to its Wrapped list: an AI-powered personalized podcast summarizing the user’s listening year. The app used Google’s NotebookLM and Gemini AI to create the feature. It is delivered by virtual hosts who analyze and even compliment the user’s music taste.

The collaboration marks Spotify’s first use of an external partner for Wrapped, capitalizing on NotebookLM’s viral success as an AI note-taking tool.
