Following the extension of the mask mandate till April 18, several states, 21 to be exact, led by Florida have requested a US Judge to halt the practice in public transportation. This lawsuit becomes the recent addition to the suits filed by different states and individuals to remove the “unnecessary” mask mandate.

The states that joined hands with Florida
The 21 states include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia and West Virginia.

The States point out that the majority of Americans live in places where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced it is safe to remove the indoor mask mandate.

The White House and CDC are yet to comment but both entities strongly say that the mask mandate is necessary to keep the spread of COVID-19 at bay.
