Launched by Facebook’s parent company Meta, Horizon Worlds, a VR platform that lets users move around and explore virtual spaces has seen a stark uptick in users. Meta’s Chief Product Officer Chris Cox informed employees that Horizon Worlds’ monthly users have increased tenfold to over 300,000. Meta’s CEO and Co-Founder Mark Zuckerberg had recently stated that a smartphone version of Horizon was due to be released later this year in order to deliver early metaverse experiences to additional platforms outside of VR.
