Washington, Oregon, and California now join a host of other states in lifting mask mandates across schools. Students can now cease to wear face coverings while indoors, according to a joint statement issued by the Governors of the three states. Mask mandates, however, will continue to remain in place for high-risk areas such as within hospitals and prisons. “As we learn to live with the virus, we must remain vigilant,” said Oregon Governor Kate Brown. Several East Coast states, including New York and New Jersey, had recently done away with the mask requirement at schools.
