Mothers can relax a bit as the first emergency shipment carrying 78,000 pounds of infant formula arrived in Indianapolis from Europe. The formula is enough to fill half a million baby bottles.
FedEx Express will bring another shipment of infant formula on Wednesday, the White House said.
The plane that arrived yesterday from the Ramstein Air Base in Germany carried 132 pallets of Nestle Health Science Alfamino Infant and Alfamino Junior formula. Another 114 pallets of Gerber Good Start Extensive HA formula will arrive in the upcoming days.
The end goal
President Joe Biden’s administration is trying to fill empty shelves with 1.5 million containers of Nestle specialty infant formulas that are hypoallergenic in the stores this week.
