Apple announced on Tuesday that it would discontinue the production of the iPod after its 20-year-long run.
iPods ruled the world market as one of the most successful products by Apple since its launch in 2001.
The company said in a blog post on Tuesday the iPod Touch will sell till supplies last.
The iPod lives on
The iPod entered the market when the portable music player segment was booming—the product caught public attention with features like the capacity to store over 1,000 songs and a 10-hour battery life.
Last updated in 2019, the sales of iPods were overshadowed by smartphones and online music platforms.
