
With 369 medals, Norway entered Beijing, carrying the pride of “the country with the most Winter Olympic medals of all time.” Therese Johaug from Norway added another feather to the country’s cap by winning the first gold medal of the 2022 Winter Olympics in the women’s 15 km skiathlon.
The second gold medal was won by Irene Schouten from Netherland in the women’s 3000 meters speed skating. Several countries have started collecting their Winter Olympic medals as well.
