The White House has approached Congress with a request for approving $6.4 billion in military and economic assistance to Ukraine as it battles Russia's incursion. The budget would include $3.5 billion for the Pentagon and $2.9 billion for military and humanitarian assistance to the U.S.’ Eastern European partners. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated on Sunday that the financing request will be included in the spending bill, which is anticipated to reach the Senate floor next week. Congress will have the final say on approval of the funding and its final amount. Tensions in Ukraine continue to grow as the two countries prepare to have talks near the Belarus border on Monday.
