Dr. Eric Lander, a top science advisor to President Joe Biden, and the Director of the White House’s Office of Science and Technology policy, handed in his resignation after a White House investigation found him in violation of workplace-behavior rules.
Dr. Lander reportedly treated his subordinates with disrespect, and was accused of bullying and demeaning them. As the criticism started to pile up, Dr. Lander decided to quit and handed his letter of resignation to the President. He also wrote an email to his staff on Friday evening, apologizing for the discomfort.
Reportedly, President Biden has accepted Dr Lander’s resignation, which will take effect no later than February 18.
The review was first reported by Politico earlier on Monday and confirmed by Jen Psaki.
