California’s state court judge, Maureen Duffy-Lewis, recently struck down the state’s 2018 landmark judgment requiring publicly held companies headquartered in California to have at least one woman on their board of directors.
Judge Lewis on Friday found the law to be unconstitutional and said the law—that would require boards to have up to three female directors by this year—violated the right to equal treatment.
