“____ is the Night,” Elon Musk’s latest cryptic tweet following his offer to buy Twitter for $43 billion has raised speculations that the billionaire is aiming for a tender offer to buy the micro-blogging platform.
A tender offer is when an individual offers to buy all of the company’s shares at a fixed price from every individual shareholder who invested in the company.
Only Musk can tell us ‘what’ is the night
Comparing Musk’s recent tweet to the one posted on Saturday: “Love Me Tender”, would make ‘tender’ the most suitable word to fill the blank.
Some Twitterati also claim Musk’s tweet refer to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel ‘Tender Is the Night’.
Musk is ready to invest $10 to $15 billion out of his pocket and is trying to get investors to pitch in for the rest to make up for the $43 billion to acquire Twitter.
