In an open letter published on Monday, presidents of eight EU member states—the Republic of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Poland, the Slovak Republic, and the Republic of Slovenia—urged to provide quick EU candidate country status to Ukraine and for open membership talks. The letter stated that presidents of eight EU states firmly believed that Ukraine, currently facing a massive invasion from Russia, merits getting an immediate EU accession perspective.
