FBI Report graph indicating active shooter incident spike from 2016 - 2020

The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported Monday that the US experienced 61 ‘active shooter’ incidents in 2021, leaving 103 dead and 140 wounded.

These incidents were spread over 30 states, with California topping the list having six incidents, followed by Texas and Georgia, with five each.

It is notable that these active shooter incidents are 52% higher than in 2020 and twice the number of incidents each year from 2017 to 2019.
