People aged 50 and older can now receive a second booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the second booster on Tuesday.
Following the authorization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a statement allowing shots to begin immediately.
Those who received Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccines and a booster will be recommended to get another booster four months after their dose.
