The Zelle payment platform used and loved by millions across the country is proving to be a nightmare to the same customers it was meant to serve.
Today, the platform has become a popular destination for scammers with banks that made the platform seemingly not caring about the issues.
Reportedly, victims of fraud are being told there's little that the banks can do, in some cases alleging the transaction wasn't fraudulent at all, despite the backing.
The banks’ attitude is concerning considering last year, people sent $490 billion through Zelle, compared to $230 billion through its closest rival, Venmo.
