The Senate House on Wednesday voted to hold former President Donald Trump’s aides Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino for refusing to be cooperative with the Jan 6 Committee investigating the Capitol Hill riot.

“In America, no one is above the law. Neither Mr Trump nor Mr Scavino nor Mr Navarro is some form of royalty,” Rep. Liz Cheney said before the vote.

Peter Navarro—Trump’s former campaign advisor—and Dan Scavino, the former Deputy chief of staff, reportedly did not comply with the subpoenas. The two reportedly did not cooperate with the committee, either.

Scavino delayed his deposition six times but never showed up, whereas Navarro refused to testify by claiming his executive privilege.

The Department of Justice is yet to take the call on the situation, but it is not clear how they will respond.
