Instagram appears to have discreetly eliminated the option for mobile users to set a daily time restriction reminder of fewer than 30 minutes, a move that appears to correspond with Facebook/Meta reporting decreasing growth. The daily time restriction option notifies the user when their app activity exceeds the specified limit, reminding them to be mindful of how much time they spend on the app. Previously, the firm supported a user-defined restriction for Instagram of as little as 10 minutes every day, as part of a major public relations campaign to indicate that more 'mindful' use of its services was feasible as worries about social media addiction grew.
