Three white Gerogia men convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery in November—Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and their neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan—were found guilty on all counts in the federal hate crimes trial Tuesday.

A jury comprising eight White people, three Black people and one Hispanic person determined that the three men were motivated by racism when they chased the 25-year-old Arbery through their neighborhood. They were also convicted of attempted kidnapping, and the McMichaels were found guilty of using a firearm during a violent crime.

On top of the life sentences the McMichaels and Bryan received in state court after being convicted of Ahmaud Arbery’s murder, they now face up to life in prison for the federal crimes.
