Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's foreign minister, says the capital city of Kyiv was struck by "horrific Russian rocket assaults" early Friday morning, local time, calling on world leaders to “isolate Russia” and “sever all ties” with them. The United States and the United Kingdom responded by imposing further restrictions aimed at limiting Moscow's access to the global economy.
On Thursday, Russia started an invasion of neighboring Ukraine, employing land, air, and naval forces. Reports of explosions came to light and air raid sirens were heard in Kyiv. A stay-at-home order and martial law are in place.
