Lead singer and grunge icon Mark Lanegan passed away at his Ireland residence on Tuesday, confirmed a tweet from his official Twitter handle. Lanegan was a renowned singer who collaborated with the likes of musical icons such as Kurt Cobain, Moby, Neko Case, Isobel Campbell, and the Armed. After forming Screaming Trees in 1984, the band went on to produce eight albums. In 2000, Lanegan joined the lineup of Queens of the Stone Age and performed in one of their most sought-after albums, Songs for the Deaf. The lead singer had recently recovered from a medically induced coma after being affected by COVID-19, post which he published a book documenting his experience titled Devil in a Coma.
