Michigan’s head basketball coach Juwan Howard has been sidelined for the remainder of the regular season following a violent altercation with the members of the Wisconsin coaching staff, after the Wolverines' Sunday loss to the Badgers. A statement by the Big Ten Conference stated that Howard would be suspended for five games, in addition to being fined $40,000 for his actions during the game. The statement also reprimanded Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard, who was found in violation of the conference's sportsmanship rules.
“After reflecting on everything that occurred, I've realized how heinous both my acts and words were, and how they impacted so many,” Howard said in a statement on Monday.
