Netflix, TikTok, American Express, and leading accounting firms KPMG and PWC have disrupted their services in Russia on Sunday due to repeated false reports of Russian Military setbacks and civilian deaths in Ukraine. American Express, the world’s largest global payments network, declared its decision to cut ties with Russia and Belarus over Moscow's “unjustified” invasion of Ukraine. Chinese-owned video app TikTok soon followed suit and blocked new uploads and live-streaming capabilities in light of Vladimir Putin’s new media law signed on Friday. Streaming giant Netflix also disrupted most of its services in Russia on Sunday, joining a host of other international brands like Ikea, Nike, LVMH, Hermes, and Chanel, who have now shut their stores and operations in Russia.
