Nike honors Serena Williams by naming a building after the tennis star (in the picture the tennis icon can be seen at the US Open in 2013 vs. Sloane Stephens)|Boss Tweed|CC BY 2.0

The sportswear brand, Nike unveiled its Serena Williams Building at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton.

Covering an area of 1 million square feet, or 140 full-sized tennis courts, it is the biggest and the tallest building in the area.

The building consists of a 140-seat theater Olympia, named after Serena’s daughter, Alexis Olympia.

A dream come true
Serena took to Instagram on Wednesday and posted, “When I was just a kid, I visited the Nike campus and I saw that athletes get buildings. After that visit, I knew I wanted two things: to be a Nike athlete and to have a building.
